Savegame RAM got its own file

After quite some fighting with the control wires from/to the cartridge, I think reading savegames from the SNES cart should work now (subject to testing with more games). No writing, though. I made several attempts at “a single writable file in an otherwise static file system”, but none would make XP happy. Looks like a lot more work :-( Edit, July 17: Writing SNES savegames is now possible! Just to make sure you can take it back to the original console when it comes to finishing the boss :-)

  • This is such an awesome project. I am a fan of hardware interface devices and retro consoles and putting the two together is just too fun!

I don’t own any carts though, so this won’t be of any use to me, but I love that you documented the whole thing, and I wish I could get into some interfacing project of my own for once.

    Excellent work!

    Hey,

I only recently found your project, but it is super awesome. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of your adaptors. I was wondering if the save state is working due to the hardware and thus will work on other operating systems as I do not have a Windows PC. Thanks.
