Just a few minor things:
- After adding a few more wires, the reader can now talk to both cartridges, without having to unplug SNES to play SEGA and vice versa.
- Cartridge sensing: refresh directory information when cartridge is inserted/removed. (Unfortunately, I have to make the drive disappear for a short time. There is no simple solution to this.) Update: Fixed. There was a simple solution to this. Thanks to Dean Camera for the hint.
I want to implement loading of savegames from SNES carts tomorrow. On the SEGA side, I have no idea (1) whether there are any SEGA games with savestate functionality and (2) if so, how to access it. Anyone?
Down the road (predictions may get a bit fuzzier for the far future):
- Improve all of the above
- (Maybe) find a way to save states to SNES carts
- Hardware revision
- Testing, testing, testing
- Hardware finalization
- Sell parents’ house
- Order 1,000,000 units at $0.01 a piece
- Sell 1,000,000 units at $100 a piece
- Buy Micronesian island and have a palace built
- Finish PhD

The one Genesis/MegaDrive game which I can remember having save games is Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (or the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles combination, which I hold to this day as being one of the best games of all time).
Other than that, I would expect certain RPGs (perhaps the Phantasy Star series) to have that functionality, though I did not play many RPGs during my Genesis days, so I can’t point you toward any titles in particular.
Of the Mega Drive games you have access to (the 17 in the list) I’m pretty sure only one has save capability: Soleil (aka Crusader of Centy in the US). Can’t help you with how to access the data though, sorry.
