Other than that, I would expect certain RPGs (perhaps the Phantasy Star series) to have that functionality, though I did not play many RPGs during my Genesis days, so I can't point you toward any titles in particular. The one Genesis/MegaDrive game which I can remember having save games is Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (or the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles combination, which I hold to this day as being one of the best games of all time).
