Alright, so we’re still waiting for a few essential things, and what better way to spend that time than figuring out how to do the “logo print” I promised? :-) So I gathered a handful of euros and had a pair of stamps made – one for white on dark, one for black on bright background. Given that it’s pretty much the first time ever that I’m holding a stamp, I’m quite pleased with the outcome. On paper, everything works just the way you’d expect, but the metal surface doesn’t absorb the liquid, resulting in that certain “lo-fi” touch that might even go well with retro gaming :-) (Though I am confident that with some fine-tuning I can get the “fi” to be a little less “lo”.)
Update: The print will be done professionally, via silkscreening.

I think silk-screening would be the best, it can be applied to metal, wood, ect. I did it in high school and it was rather easy, unfortunately it requires some special equipment and probably would be prohibitively expensive for you to do yourself. I don’t know maybe you could try some hybrid system, use silk screening ink with your stamps, might be a problem as the ink is rather thick, heat treat it with a blow-dryer and see what happens.
Silkscreening it is. I just got a few offers, and it turns out it is by far not as expensive as I thought it would be….
I like the retro stamp version, assuming that it stays on and wont rub off.
Unless you’re attacking it with really bad stuff (acetone, etc), the logo is there to stay.
Pad printing s whats you need!..You tube has videos about it and a manual machine can be bought in China for 400 USD… =)
“Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!” Congratulations, you just volunteered to do the printing :D
I like it! graffiti style ;)
;) was just an idea ;)
thought about asking the guys cutting the slots in the cases for you ?
they could probably etch it into the case itself.
having said that, it does look a bit more retro as is.
good job :)
Uhm, it’s ONE guy doing it on a refurbished industrial machine in his cellar :) So, no printing services from him for sure. But of course, if it doesn’t work out, there’s still the option of having them printed professionally.
