With the cases arrived in Hamburg and soon to hit the assembly line, we’re now all eagerly awaiting the advent of zillions of lovely little Retrodes. Meanwhile, here’s some reading: the instruction sheet that will come with your Retrode 2, as PDF (English / German). Update, Dec 20, 2012: Merci à Lestat pour la traduction française ! For those who want to customize their desktop for Retrode use, I’ll throw in two icons as well:
Retrode Usage Notes

In Windows, you can assign icons to drive letters as follows:
- Launch the registry editor.
- Navigate to \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer.
- Make a new key named “DriveIcons”.
In “DriveIcons”, make a subkey named after your drive letter without the colon (say, “F”).
In “F”, make a subkey named “DefaultIcon”. - Change the default value of “DefaultIcon” to the path of the icon file, e.g., “d:\icons\Retrode.ico”.
- Done :)

Eine super Idee wie ich finde. Mein Beitrag dazu, als Retro-Fan eigentlich Pflichtprogramm: http://powerkonsolen.de/2012/02/konsolenspiele-adapter-retrode-fuer-snes-und-sega-mega-drive/
Just to be nitpicking, some corrections that would make the french manual more professional ;-)
“la troisième partie de la propriété intellectuelle” -> “la propriété intellectuelle des tiers concernés”
“seul les manettes officielles” -> “SEULES les manettes officielles”
“sont des marques commerciales de leurs propriétaires respectifs, avec lequel” -> “sont des marques commerciales de leurs propriétaires respectifs, avec LESQUELLES
Out of curiosity, what will be the use of HWB button, there is mention of it in the user manual but no details ?
Otherwise, I am too very excited to order one, seems very promising.
Thanks! Will fix the manual asap.
Delayed again? I noticed the date of retrode.com opening changed to late January.
Not trying to rush anyone, I’m just excited ;)
Regular orders are delayed because all of Germany (including myself) is in holiday mode right now. Pre-ordered units will go out as early as tomorrow.
Nicely done Matthias
Awesome, I’m going to have to tear through these and see what we’ve got. Nice to get them ahead of time, even if our units are still a bit delayed.
